Anthony Joshua Looks In Incredible Shape As He Prepares For Kubrat Pulev Showdown

On December 12, Anthony Joshua will defend his heavyweight world titles against Kubrat Pulev. AJ has been out of the ring for a full year since he last reclaimed the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO belts from Andy Ruiz Jr. Should he get through that bout successfully and Tyson Fury wins his fight the week prior, the doors will finally be open to the all-British heavyweight showdown in 2021 - possibly for the undisputed heavyweight crown.

But, Joshua is focused on Pulev first and foremost and has learned his lessons from looking too far ahead as many accused him of doing with the loss to Ruiz Jr.

AJ has had a lot of time off this year, but he certainly doesn't look like he's downed tools. The Watford-born world champion shared a picture of his training yesterday and he is looking more ripped than ever before as he prepares to make his boxing comeback.

The caption with the picture reads: "Move with a positive team & doors will open."

Pulev enters this fight 28-1 with his only loss coming in his only other world title shot against Wladimir Klitschko back in 2014. Since then, the Bulgarian has put together a run of eight straight wins - Dereck Chisora and Hughie Fury among his victims - to catapult himself to the IBF mandatory position.

Oleksandr Usyk is also lurking as the WBO mandatory challenger after beating Chisora recently while Fury will have to deal with Alexander Povetkin at some stage for his WBC title, or, Dillian Whyte if he can win the eventual rematch with the Russian.

So the path to the undisputed title is not an easy one for Joshua and Fury, but with a tentative agreement in place and the fact that it would be the biggest fight in the modern age of boxing, you have to imagine it's in the interest of many to make it happen. With two fights agreed for 2021, Joshua has all the motivation he needs to get past Pulev and judging by his condition right now, he's ready.
